Jagr named NHL's 2nd Star of the Week

The NHL named its three stars of the week today and Jaromir Jagr received the second star, with the Washington Capitals Alexander Ovechkin receiving the first star and the San Jose Sharks Evgeni Nabokov receiving the third star...

SECOND STAR – JAROMIR JAGR, F, NEW YORK RANGERS

Jagr tied for first among NHL scorers with seven points (4-3--7) in three games. On Dec. 26 he recorded two goals in a 4-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes. He notched one goal and three assists in a 6-1 victory over Toronto Maple Leafs Dec. 29 and recorded one goal in a 4-3 overtime victory over the Montreal Canadiens Dec. 30. For the season Jagr is second on the Rangers with 34 points (11-23--34) in 39 games.

...the rest of the NHL better take notice that Jagr is starting to heat up big time.

...I still can't get over the fact that Jagr's turn around has coincided with Sean Avery's return from wrist surgery. And even last year, Jagr really seemed to turn it on after Avery was traded to the Rangers. Not sure why it would make a difference as they're not on the same line, but maybe Jagr feels more comfortable with Avery lineup.

Maybe the clowns in section 420 will finally stop booing Jagr.
