Rangers vs. Canadiens Preview

The New York Rangers (19-15-4) host the Montreal Canadiens (19-13-6) tonight at MSG. This is the first meeting between the two teams this season. For the Rangers yesterday, Petr Prucha scored two goals to double his total for the season and Jaromir Jagr had a goal and three assists. The Rangers have seven power-play goals in their last two games after recording just five in their previous eight. The Canadiens are looking for their third straight victory after defeating Florida on Friday to improve to 3-1-1 on a six-game road swing their longest stretch away from home in 2007-08. Though the Canadiens are just 6-7-4 at home, their 13-6-2 road record is second-best in the Eastern Conference behind Ottawa, which is 13-3-2 away from home. For a full preview go to Yahoo! Sports.

...the Rangers need to start making it harder on teams when they come into MSG. They're currently 12-8 on home ice, but to me they need to be a lot better than 4 games over .500 at home. With Avery back in the lineup I think we'll be seeing a more physical Ranger team at home.

...hopefully, the Rangers didn't leave all their goals in Toronto as they'll need some tonight against a Montreal team that has scored 113 goals in 38 games this season. The Rangers have 93 in 38 games. However, Montreal has also given up 105 to the Rangers 91.

...looking to see a more confident Prucha on the ice tonight after his 2 goal performance.

...I'm a bit worried about Lundqvist tonight, as he seems to have bad games right after a day off. Let's hope not.

...I'll have a recap after the game.
