Rangers vs. Hurricanes Preview

Tonight the New York Rangers (17-15-4) host the Carolina Hurricanes (19-15-3). The struggling Rangers hope to avoid matching a season-high four-game losing streak. During the last 10 games, the Rangers are 2-6-2 and have been outscored 37-21. Even Henrik Lundqvist hasn't been immune to the slump, going 2-4-2 with two shutouts and a 3.42 goals-against average in his last eight starts. The Rangers' 2-6-2 skid started Dec. 3 with a 4-0 home loss to Southeast Division-leading Carolina. The Hurricanes lost four of their next five games before rebounding to win three of four, including a 4-1 victory Saturday at Tampa Bay. The Rangers had won three straight against the Hurricanes before Ward shut them out in the most recent meeting. For a full recap go to Yahoo! Sports.

...this is a big game for the Rangers. The team is in a rut and now, as seen on this blog, there's lots of trade rumors going around. The only way to stop all of this is to go out and win.

...I don't necessarily feel the Rangers have been playing poorly they just need a couple of bounces to go their way.

...and one last thing. Put the puck in the net. Please!!!
