Streak Busters

Brendan Shanahan scored the game winner 30 seconds into overtime as the New York Rangers (16-12-2) defeated the New Jersey Devils (16-10-3) by a score of 1-0. The Ranger win snapped both their 3 game losing streak and the Devils 9 game winning streak. Henrik Lundqvist posted his 5th shutout of the season in the victory. The Rangers are now 4-0 against the Devils this season allowing only 1 goal in 3 games at MSG. For a full recap go to Yahoo! Sports.

...this win was big for so many reasons, the rivalry, breaking the 9 game winning streak and 3 game losing streak, getting within 1 point of 1st in the Atlantic. Great job tonight boys.

...its good to have ya back Henrik. The save he made 10 seconds into the game set the tone. If that goes in it might have been a long night for the Rangers.

...you've got to love Shanahan. Not only for scoring the game winner tonight, but this guy loves being a Ranger and playing in New York. You can see it on his face.

...it looks like it won't be problem getting Gomez ready to play against his former team. Some of his best games have come against them. He had a real hard working game tonight and his assist on Shanahan's game winner was a perfect pass.

...while I love the fact that the Rangers are winning, man can the games be boring. I know if we're fortunate enough to get to the playoffs again this team can play the type of hockey necessary to win, but right now I could use a little more scoring.
