Valiquette in Goal Tonight

Steve Zipay at Blue Notes is reporting that Steve Valiquette will be starting between the pipes tonight against Atlanta...

"As previously indicated, backup Steve Valiquette will start his third game of the year 'to give Henrik a rest,' coach Tom Renney confirmed a few minutes ago. 'Steve's played well, and not that every game isn't big, but this will give him (Lundqvist) a real chance to focus on New Jersey (on Sunday).'

Eschewing the thought of throwing Lundqvist right back in, Renney said he noticed in Lundqvist a little lack of 'rebound control, maybe going down a bit early...Doing some things that are sort of uncharacteristic of him. Obviously not fatal.'..."

...I like the move. Lundy needs some rest and with the hottest team in the league, the New Jersey Devils, coming into MSG on Sunday, Henrik has to be mentally and physically sharp.
