Blue Notes Mid-Season Report Card

Steve Zipay over at Blue Notes gives his mid-season report card for the Rangers. Here are some of the most notable...

Scott Gomez is the only player who deserves an A. He's adjusted, been flying and has boosted first Shanahan's and now Jagr's game.

Drury's not scoring quite enough goals, but his all-around play earns him a B-plus.

Avery, also when healthy, which hasn't been often enough, garners a B.

Jagr, sorry, even with his latest spurt, a B-minus.

Had Lundqvist at a B-plus after his terrific start, but he's been far too streaky recently, so the mark's fallen to a B.

Hossa. Not the same verve. C-minus.

Hollweg. Looking more like an AHL player. C-minus.

Malik. Slow, soft and the negatives outweigh positives. C-minus/D.

...have to agree with pretty much all of Zipay's assessments. He came down hard on Hollweg. Looking like an AHL player, Ouch.
