Columbus May Be Interested in Tyutin

According to Tom Reed at The Columbus Dispatch, the Blue Jackets are said to be pursuing Fedor Tyutin...

"As we continue to bombard you with trade rumors involving the Rangers and Penguins, here are two names to keep in mind: Fedor Tyutin and Erik Christensen.

Tyutin, 24, is one of the Rangers top four defensemen and is believed to a player of interest to the Jackets. It’s hard to believe the Rangers would part with Tyutin, but they have a history of letting go decent young defensemen – see Mark Tinordi and Mattias Nordstrom.

The Rangers believe they have a young, cornerstone defenseman in rookie Marc Staal and another good one in Dan Girardi. Tyutin has 4 goals and 4 assists in 46 games, but he’s a minus-9."

...depending on who we could get in return, I wouldn't totally be against trading Tyutin, only because of our depth at defense.

...having players in our system such as Sanguinetti, Sauer, Liffiton, Pock and Baranka allows us to trade a player like Tyutin and not take a major hit defensively.

...I guess I was wrong the other day when I said we didn't have players other teams would want.

Maybe we could get Nash for Tyutin and Prucha.
