Cujo Signs With Calgary

According to ESPN, Curtis Joseph has decided to sign with the Calgary Flames.

Here is John Dellapina's take on it at The Blueshirts Blog...

"Curtis Joseph is not signing with the Rangers. While Glen Sather checked on Cujo while talking about a new contract for Henrik Lundqvist over the weekend with agent Don Meehan, the Rangers weren’t as ready to commit as Calgary. By all accounts, the Rangers did not make an offer, leaving Joseph to back up Miikka Kiprusoff rather than Lundqvist the rest of this season."

...while I had no illusions of Joseph coming to the Rangers and playing the way he did when he was in Edmonton or Toronto, I did feel that he would serve as a capable backup and push Lundqvist in a way that Valiquette can't. I mean who feels comfortable with having to play either Valiquette or Montoya down the stretch if god forbid Lundqvist gets injured.
