Rangers vs. Hurricanes Preview

Tonight the New York Rangers (24-21-6) visit the Carolina Hurricanes (24-24-4). The Rangers are currently on a five-game road losing streak, which is one game shy of matching their six-game away slide (0-5-1) to start the season. They own a 7-10-6 mark on the road. Carolina, which has the fewest points of any division leader (52), has lost five of their last seven. The Hurricanes, who have dropped five of their last six at home (1-4-1), host the Rangers for the first time this season. The Rangers had lost five consecutive games against the Hurricanes in Raleigh, N.C. before winning 4-1 in the last matchup there on Feb. 15. For a full preview visit Yahoo! Sports.

...the Rangers ended the first half of the seaon on a 4-2-1 run, which put them into a tie for the eighth and final playoff spot, lets hope they can keep that momentum going into the second half of the season.

...the Hurricanes started the season on a nice run, but, similar to the Rangers, have been struggling for the last two months. We need to jump on this team from the get go.

...former Conn Smythe trophy winner goalie Cam Ward has been struggling for Carolina to the tune of a 2-5-0 record with a 3.98 goals-against average in his last seven games, including six starts. Let's get traffic in front and rattle him early.

...really hoping Lundqvist used the All-Star break to put his mind at ease and get himself ready for another late season surge. I can see him starting 28 of the last 31 games.

...I'll have game day notes as soon as available.
