Dream Big Ranger Fans

Mark Herrmann of Newsday thinks that with the Rangers recent success, fans should start dreaming of a playoff run...

"...So go ahead, Rangers fans, dream a little. Why not? No one else in the parity-drenched Eastern Conference has taken this race and grabbed it by the throat. The Rangers have as good a chance as anybody.

They have a couple, maybe a few future Hall of Famers. They have speed, youth, muscle, depth. When Chris Drury, one of the best clutch players of his era, is on your third line, you know you're good. They have an elite goalie in Henrik Lundqvist, who was outstanding during an Islanders flurry in the first period.

They have Sean Avery, who doesn't fit into any category (he pointed out that he hasn't watched a hockey game during his off hours in three years, as he exited the locker room with his copy of Vogue)."

...I think Ranger fans know better than to have visions of Stanley Cups dancing in their heads, but we have to be more than excited with our chances.
