Return of the King

Jay Greenberg of The New York Post reports on the outstanding play of Henrik Lundqvist in yesterday's game...

"Lundqvist was better than he had been in a long time, and he absolutely was as good as required yesterday...

...Perhaps a turning point was reached in the aftermath of the 4-3 shootout loss to the New York Islanders Tuesday, when he decided, with goaltender coach Benoit Allaire's encouragement, to stop being too hard on himself. Maybe getting sick lowered his expectations for a day by a healthy amount. Whatever, games like this are why The Good Lord invented franchise goalies, one of which the Rangers have when he is right."

...Lundqvist stole two points for the Rangers last night. Which is something he hadn't done since November.

...Last night's game actually reminded me of the type of games the Rangers played earlier in the year. Low scoring and letting Lundqvist bail them out. Whatever works.
