Sather Wants to Re-Sign Jagr

Steve Zipay at Newsday reports...

"Rangers president and general manager Glen Sather reiterated yesterday that he would like to re-sign winger Jaromir Jagr over the summer, in part for Jagr to participate in the Rangers' opening regular-season series in the Czech Republic in October."

...not sure where I stand on bringing Jagr back. If Sather brings Jagr back, he can't take the "C" away, thus holding Gomez and Drury back another year from taking over this team. On the other hand, if Sather doesn't re-sign Jagr, who is he going to bring in to take his place, while staying under the salary cap. Although Jagr is having an off-year offensively, he is only two years removed from a 54 goal season and whose to say he won't regain that form next year and put up 30+ goals. Plus Sather can probably sign him for cheap as Jagr loves playing in New York and he'll be coming off a down year.
