Gomez Loves Beating His Former Team

Mike G. Morreale at NHL.com writes...

"To the dismay of Devils fans, Gomez now is giving his former teammates headaches.

In Wednesday's opening game of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series between the teams, Gomez had one of his best games as a Ranger with three assists to help New York register a 4-1 victory against New Jersey before 17,625 at the Prudential Center."

...Gomez' ability to skate through the neutral zone with the puck is amazing. We haven't seen that type of puck handling since Brian Leetch. Some so-called experts say that Gomez hasn't lived up to his contract, but to me we got Gomez (and Drury) to win in April, May and June. Not November, December and January. If Gomez can help bring a Stanley Cup to the Rangers this year he will be worth every penny.

...it also seems that he raises his play when he sees his former mates across the way. In the nine games he's played against the Devils this year he has 1 goal 9 assists and is a +3.

Hey NYRFAN your throwing around the "L" word a little too haphazardly.
Even though I do love the way Gomez carries the puck threw the neutral zone.
