Lundqvist a Vezina Finalist for Third Straight Season

Newyorkrangers.com reports...

"New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist has been nominated as a finalist for the Vezina Trophy, as the league’s top goaltender during the 2007-08 regular season. It is his third consecutive nomination.

Lundqvist, 26, appeared in 72 games with the Rangers this season, posting a record of 37-24-10, along with a 2.23 goals against average, a .912 save percentage and 10 shutouts. He ranked among the league leaders in several goaltending categories including wins (T-4th), goals against average (6th) and shutouts (1st)...

...Also among the finalists for this year's Vezina Trophy are San Jose goalie Evgeni Nabokov and New Jersey netminder Martin Brodeur, who has won three of the past four Vezina Trophies."

...congratulations to Hank. Well deserved.

...despite struggling from December through February, Lundqvist was the sole reason the Rangers weren't out of it early in the season. And as he did last year, Lundqvist stepped up his play when it counted the most in March and April.

...I know I'll probably get killed for this, but my money is on Nabokov. If Lundqvist just played decent during his December through February struggles it would be a no brainer, but he struggled for too long to win the Vezina in my opinion.

Congrats to Hank, although he'll probably end up 3rd in the voting. I agree with NYRFAN I think Nabokov deserves to win it.
