HockeyBuzz: Rangers Have Interest in Campbell & Pitkanen

Eklund at HockeyBuzz has this...

"Brian Campbell is still trying to get something done in San Jose, but the deal may be tied to Patrick Marleau being moved prior to the draft to Minnesota, Columbus, Buffalo, Boston or the NYI. If Marleau can't be moved look for Boston, NYR, Philly and Buffalo to be the most interested in Campbell.

Joni Pitkanen is full of talent, but many feel he is hard to coach and is still having a tough time adjusting to the North American Game. NYR, Carolina, Boston, and LA are interested."

...with the Rangers in desperate need of a pointman on the power play, I'm assuming we're going to see the Rangers mentioned as an interested party whenever a free-agent offensive d-man is discussed.

...Campbell ended last season with 8 goals, 54 assists and a +8 in 83 regular season games and 1 goal, 6 assists and a +3 in 13 playoff games.

...in 63 regular season games Pitkanen had 8 goals, 18 assists and a -5.
