More on Rangers Violating NHL Constitution

John Dellapina at The Blueshirts Blog adds this regarding the NHL taking the Rangers franchise away from the Dolans...

"Before citizens begin dancing up and down Seventh Ave. and singing in high-pitched glee as if a house had fallen on their version of the wicked witch, it should be noted that such an end result is unlikely at this point - and months, if not years, down the road.

But that the NHL would even seek to threaten such a thing reflects how much the relationship between the league and the owners of its flagship American franchise continue to deteriorate amid the conflict over control of the Rangers’ Web site and the team’s ability to strike out on its own to market Internet content."

...with Bettman always being anti-Ranger I can't see this happening because the best thing for the Rangers franchise is for the Dolans not to be owning it.

Do you think the Dolans would rent out MSG to the Rangers after the franchise has been stripped from them? It wouldn't surprise me at all if they chose to drive the Rangers out of the city just to spite the NHL if it went down like that.

If that ends up happening I could see the Rangers playing their games at the IZOD Center formerly Continental Airlines Arena. Man that would be awful.
