Pens Offer Hossa 7 Years, $50 million; Malone Will Be Available

Aaron Portzline at the Columbus Dispatch reports...

"The Penguins have made Hossa a long-term contract offer -- believed to be seven years, $50 million -- and expect to hear back from him in a couple of days.

If Hossa accepts the contract -- and the Penguins expect he will -- Ryan Malone's days in the Steel City are finished."

...looks like the Hossa sweepstakes may be over before it starts.

...if Malone becomes available the Rangers better get aggressive because this story says the Blue Jackets are primed to get Malone if Hossa accepts the offer.
