Rissmiller Recalled from Hartford

Patrick Rissmiller, who cleared waivers for the second time, has been recalled from a conditioning loan to Hartford and will be a scratch tonight reports Steve Zipay at Blue Notes. Rissmiller had seven assists and a shootout goal in six games with the Wolf Pack.

...Rissmiller's signing is looking worse and worse as this season moves forward. Having a $1 million scratch on the roster is really going to hamstring this team if we need to make a trade deadline move.

Why re-call him if he is not going to ever play? Keep him in the minors, where he seemed to be producing, and if he is producing, that means other young players are also producing, like Anisimov, who I personally would like to see sometime later this year at 3rd line center, maybe with Korpikoski on the wing.

If Rissmiller is kept in the minors, his salary also stays off the books, which could be beneficial to us down the stretch should a roster move be made. I honestly can not see one positive reason to him being recalled.

Very puzzling indeed.
