Avery Being Avery

The NHL has suspended Dallas forward Sean Avery indefinitely following inappropriate public comments about the personal lives of opposing players.

Avery had this to say in an interview regarding Calgary player Dion Phaneuf dating his former girlfriend Elisha Cuthbert (from TSN)...

"I am really happy to be back in Calgary, I love Canada," Avery said on camera this morning in Calgary. "I just want to comment on how it's become like a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds. I don't know what that's about. Enjoy the game tonight."

Cuthbert reportedly also dated Mike Komisarek of the Montreal Canadiens.

Dallas team officials said if the NHL didn't suspend Avery the team would have.

...while most hockey fans will frown upon this behavior by Avery, incidents such as this are the reasons why I love him and why Bettman should be using Avery to promote the game.

Hilarious.

Exactly, not a big deal—need we bring up the behavior of NFLers? Athletes are real people, just like us...they have personalities and feelings.
