Eklund: Rangers/Oilers Talking Trade

Eklund at HockeyBuzz is reporting...

Something is definitely up as I continue to hear rumours of a MAJOR deal between the Oilers and Rangers. I always just assumed this deal was tied to Sundin, but it appears that there are two deals being discussed: "One that would occur should the Rangers sign Mats, and one that would occur if they don't."

...this rumor might actually have some legs because of the Rangers possible interest in getting rid of salary to sign Sundin.

...Edmonton is $2.7 million under the cap and could afford Petr Prucha's $1.6 million salary.

I could see a by-way-of trade happening.

Eh, I'm not really crazy about any of the Oilers, obviously except Hemsky. The Oilers don't have much cap space either, so it wouldn't be a huge salary dump.
