The New York Rangers (18-8-2) defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins (14-6-4) by the score of 3-2 in a shootout tonight. For a recap and box score go to newyorkrangers.com.
...it's official, the Rangers can only win in a shootout as five of their last six wins have come that way. Amazing.
...no matter what the problems are on this team (power play, lack of scoring) one thing they won't do, minus Sunday's game, is give up when they're down. All season long they've continued to battle back, usually behind the heroics of Lundqvist, and more often than not they've been able to tie the game and win it in a shootout.
...i told you I felt Prucha was going to have a big game tonight (see here). Just seeing the players faces when he scored you know they were all pulling for him.
...the power play has gotten so bad they can't even make proper line changes anymore. Another o'fer tonight making them 0-for-13 in the last three games and 1-for-their last 19.
...on the other end the Rangers league leading penalty kill once again did the job keeping the Penguins skilled power play off the board.
...loved how physical the Rangers were with Crosby tonight. I actually jumped out of my chair when Staal absolutely jacked Crosby in overtime.
...congrats to Gomez on his 400th assist.
...and I still have a man crush on Zherdev.
...i think the Rangers proved tonight that, despite their flaws, they are still a top team in the Eastern Conference and all the talk about getting Sundin is very premature.
...quick turn around as they head to Montreal to take on the Canadiens tomorrow. I think we all remember what happened the last time the Rangers played up there. Let's just say no lead will be safe in the minds of Ranger fans tomorrow.

I was at the game and DAMN it was a good one. Good flow back and forth. The first period started off a little shaky but they got their game on lock by the second period.
Lots of good chances and tons of hitting. Rangers absolutely CRUSHED them in the shootout and it seems like the only way to score on Lundqvist during the SO is just to shoot and not deke.
