Vally, Redden In; Sjostrom Promoted; Prucha Out

Steve Zipay at Blue Notes is reporting that Steve Valiquette will make his fifth start of the season tonight against the Thrashers, while Wade Redden skated this morning and will be in the line-up tonight. This means recently promoted defenseman Corey Potter will be a healthy scratch.

In the Rangers ever changing line-up, Nigel Dawes is back in and Petr Prucha is back to the press box, while Renney had finally decided to break up the fourth line. Check out the lines...

Naslund-Gomez-Zherdev
Dawes-Drury-Callahan
Voros-Dubinsky-Sjostrom
Korpikoski-Betts-Orr

...while I'm not a big fan of changing the lines on a nightly basis, I actually like these combinations.

...i also like the move to start Valiquette. I'm hoping that the team will rally around their back-up goalie and score some goals.

Zipay is also reporting that Yankee Stadium is still the front runner for the 2010 Winter Classic which would have the Rangers facing-off against the Boston Bruins.

glad to see Sjostrom getting a well deserved shot on a top 3 line

While I do like the lines, I am surprised to see Prucha back in the press box as he's been one of the few forwards playing well. And he has one of the four goals the Rangers have scored in the last four games.
