Gaborik May Have Season Ending Surgery

Anyone who was thinking the Rangers should look to trade for Minnesota Wild forward Marian Gaborik, forget about it. Michael Russo at the Minneapolis/St. Paul Star-Tribune reports that Gaborik, who has missed 30 of 36 games this season, might have season-ending surgery to repair a deficiency in his left hip that has been causing him groin pain all season.

...if the Wild were thinking about trading Gaborik forget about it now. Even if he decides against surgery, who would trade for a forward with a bum hip that becomes a free agent at the end of the year? Hopefully not Sather.
