Renney's Job Safe for Now

Neil Best at Newsday has a story on which New York coaches are most vulnerable in 2009. Best has Tom Renney in the 'Least Likely' category and says this...

Least vulnerable

Tom Renney, Rangers
You've made the Rangers consistent winners after years of floundering, but isn't it about time to get past two playoff rounds, Tom?

...while Renney will not be on the hot seat this season, if he doesn't get past the second round he will be starting on opening night next year.

Three years and we can't score on the power play. This guy can't just be let off the hook because we make the playoffs. He switches lines like women switch pocketbooks. I say enough is enough and let's bring in a real coach like Ted Nolan. Tom Renney can't find a regular spot for Petr Pruka!! What a joke.

I hear ya Frank. There are plenty of things not to like about Renney. However, he got the team headed in the right direction and I'd much rather be at this point with Renney than six years ago with Brian Trottier.
