Another Low Scoring Affair?

Rick Carpiniello at the Rangers Report reminds us that the Rangers have scored a grand total of two goals against the Sabres this year, a 3-1 loss and a 2-1 shootout loss.

With the goaltending of Ryan Miller and Henrik Lundqvist as well as the commitment to defense of both teams, sprinkle in the injury to Sabres leading scorer Thomas Vanek and the Rangers inability to score and you have the makings of a 1-0 game.

Having said that, I was over at my sports betting website (hey, times are tough I've got to make money somehow) and noticed on their NHL betting page that the over/under for tonight's game is 5 1/2. 5 1/2!!!! I'd be shocked if the total went over three. With the Rangers averaging just 2.29 goals scored per game you'd probably be pretty rich if you were betting the under in every Ranger game this year. In case you care the Rangers are a 1 1/2 underdog tonight.
