Avery Not Adding Spark in Harford

Mitch Beck at The Howlings notes that Sean Avery was supposed to come to Hartford and spark the Wolf Pack and then go to the Rangers and spark them.

However, since being sent to play in Hartford, Avery has inspired the team to it’s second consecutive loss and has led the team to scoring a grand total of one goal in two games.

...despite what's happening in Hartford, Avery should bring a spark to New York. But no way should he be counted on to cure the Rangers scoring woes.

Wrong. Avery was not sent to spark the AHL team to do anything. He went there to prove "he was fit to play in the NHL" whatever that means...and THEN play for the Rangers, sparking them.

How could one player inspire a team to lose, anyway?
