Canadiens Acquire Schneider

Yahoo! Sports is reporting that the Montreal Canadiens have acquired defenseman Mathieu Schneider from the Atlanta Thrashers.

Schneider who has struggled most of the year has one goal, six assists and is a + 7 in his last 13 games.

The Rangers and Canadiens are currently tied for the fifth spot in the Eastern Conference.

...must be nice to have cap room to plug holes in your line-up.

...this is a problem the Rangers are going to have competing for the final few playoff spots. The teams around them have cap space to make moves, while the Rangers do not. Thanks Glen.

Well, if the Rangers got Schneider you'd here..."why are the Rangers getting washed up veterans who've already played on the team" rants.

Remember when Schneider was on the Rangers from 1998-00? He had 64 points and was -25....but he would have been nice to have back...I guess.
