Jim Kelley at SI.com says without a Ranger turnaround the size of defenseman Wade Redden's salary, the firing of Tom Renney will happen.
Kelley says Renney has to take some blame, but the bulk falls on Glen Sather.
...unless things completely fall apart, Renney will get the rest of the year, however, if they don't make it to at least the second round in the playoffs he is gone this off-season.

I cant see Renney being fired before end of the season, only to promote Perry PEarn to head coach....
