Renney in 'Deep Trouble'

Bruce Garrioch at the Ottawa Sun reports that coming off the 10-2 loss to the Stars on Friday, there's plenty of talk that Rangers coach Tom Renney is in deep trouble.

Garrioch says that if New York decides to make a change, don't be surprised to see former Leafs coach Pat Quinn behind the bench on Broadway.

This is the second time Garrioch has linked Quinn, who played junior hockey with Glen Sather and have been close friends since, to the Rangers this season. See here.

...while I don't disagree that Friday's game probably has Rangers management evaluating Renney's job performance, I still contend that he'll get the year to try and turn this around.

...as far as Quinn goes, I'd rather a younger coach like Nolan, Tortorella or Laviolette.

This scares me more than anything. I can imagine that Renney is in trouble after this one but I think his hands are tied with the team he has....Bigger Fish to fry to put it bluntly

i agree with evan, sather still hasnt given us a number 1 d man or another winger, he signed redden drury and gomez to overpaid contracts..drury and gomez are about 2 million overpaid, and redden is about 3 million overpaid...thats 7 million right there we coulda used on a winger/dman...redden shouldnt have even been signed in the first place unless we was willing to take 2 mill a year

It seems like NY media feels that Renney's job is not in jeopardy...which probably means it is.
