Scott Burnside at ESPN.com wonders if there is a more overrated person in the entire game of hockey than Rangers GM Glen Sather? Saying..."Since his arrival in New York in 2000, though, Sather has made it seem as though all of that success in Edmonton was somehow a fluke, like labeling the winner of the Powerball lottery a financial genius because, well, he has lots of dough.
After his arrival in New York, Sather presided over four straight nonplayoff seasons and four straight fourth-place finishes in the Atlantic Division (although he did deliver some of the most ill-advised contracts in the history of the game)."
...it's obvious that Sather is much more responsible for this mess than Renney. And not only the mess this year the mess that awaits this team the next four years when they'll have absolutely no cap room to make any moves. Good luck Torts.
Pierre LeBrun also at ESPN.com says that John Tortorella should inject life into Rangers but wonders what happens to Sean Avery.

Look at the TEAM Edmonton had when they won those cups....they made Slats look almost godlike. So he's been here eight years....has he been "building" or "re-building" nope. He sucks.
