Taking Stock

Both Steve Zipay at Blue Notes and Rick Carpiniello at the Rangers Reports look at where the Rangers are after a big trade deadline and two straight wins against inferior opponents...

Zipay says...

"...10 goals in consecutive games for the first time this season. Can't knock it even though they went past the 'Lanche tandem and Yann Danis....Big test with Bruins coming up Sunday. B's are struggling a bit, but the Rangers are 0-5 in matinees. That was under the old regime, however. I surmise that Torts won't sit still for another less than uptempo fore-checking effort and the crowd should be pumped for the "new" Sean Avery's home debut."

Carpienello adds...

"So excuse me for being skeptical over this two-game winning streak, or for not being convinced that all the changes are going to make for drastically different results. Although I do understand why you might be excited."

...i think we'll know a lot more about this team around 10 p.m. Monday night.
