Capitals 4, Rangers 0 (NYR 2-1)

The New York Rangers lost to the Washington Capitals by the score of 4-0, tonight and now have a 2-1 series lead in their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal match-up. For a recap and box score go to Yah00! Sports.

...while I never expected the Rangers to sweep the Capitals, I did expect maximum effort every game. Tonight, the Rangers had as much intensity as they would for a preseason game.

...one play can change an entire series and we might have seen that play tonight when Callahan hits the pipe on a wide open net and Washington comes the other way to take a 2-0 lead.

...Varlamov is making Boudreau look like a genius.

...the Rangers atrocious power play has resurfaced. After going 2-for-4 in Game 1 they are now 0 for their last 12.

...speaking of atrocious the officiating was awful for both sides. This is the playoffs, let them play.

...it's obvious that Drury's injury isn't healed and is effecting his play. He was limited to 10:58 of ice time tonight. The Captain (and the Rangers) may be better off if he sat out until his injury is healed.

...can someone tell Zherdev the playoffs started.

...f'n thunder sticks.

...this has to be a throw away game as the Rangers need to forget about it and focus on Game 4 Wednesday night.

Correct. May as well bench Cap'n Clutch, and let Dubi have more minutes. And, you had to figure the Cap's scorers would soon "score". We need to save home ice, and steal one more game.

Awful game. Zero passion.

Anyone watch the Hawks/Flames game? There's some passion in that game, damn. Down by a couple goals, the Hawks never stopped battling, and were super grimy and pissed off...setting the stage for the next game, even though they kinda knew with a few mins left three goals weren't gonna happen. And Iginla—there's a captain! Wow.

Also, the camera view on the Hawks/Flames game was awesome...nice and low to the ice. Watching the Rangers game I feel like we're up on the Chrysler building looking down on ants.

The Rangers looked lethargic and on another planet tonight. Lundqvist...best player.

I would have been nice to see more of the penalties that were called.(besides avery's I dont remember seeing any)

As usual Versus is worst coverage imaginable. How about when they put the Ad for the next games up on the screen and then you couldn't see the player with the puck. Its a disgrace.

totally. It's impossible to see the F-ing ice when Versus has their huge-ass ads up blocking the whole screen.

And boy do they hate Avery. Although I guess everyone but NY does. Did you see him punch Varlamov in the face? The kid didn't even know what to do, he just shook it off.

Let's go Blueshirts!
