Capitals 4, Rangers 0 (NYR 3-2)

The New York Rangers lost to the Washington Capitals by the score of 4-0, tonight and now have a 3-2 series lead in their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal match-up. For a recap and box score go to Yah00! Sports.

...and that's why you can't sit Sean Avery. I know Tortorella tried to send a message, but all of us who've watched this team all year know the Rangers show no passion when Avery's not in the line-up.

...and the worst part about Torts sitting Avery is that his message didn't even sink in. Selfish penalty by Gomez right off the bat followed by a too many men on the ice.

...have the Rangers hit 10 shots on goal yet?

...it's gotten so bad the Rangers might have to start declining penalties.

...i guess the strategy for the Capitals now is to shoot less, because after only scoring 8 goals on 149 shots in the first four games, they score 4 on only 21 tonight. Go figure.

...does Valiquette get the start on Sunday? Calm down, I'm joking.

...Ovechkin = ridiculous.

...got to give credit to Dubinsky for being the only Ranger who seemed to want to be out there. While Gomez continues to look like he doesn't.

...Drury only 7:21 of ice time. Why is he in the line-up if he can't play?

...another game to just throw out similar to Game 3. I expect to see a much better Rangers team on Sunday with Avery back in the line-up.

We gotta come back with a better effort on Sunday. Terrible start in this game, we never got setlled, looked bad the whole game. Dubi, Cally, Staal, and Girardi were our only good players in this game.

I also felt it was the right decision to have Vally play in the third, give Hank some rest.

soooo youre saying we lost because we didnt have avery in the lineup? what happened in game 3 when we lost? Pretty sure he was out there. He's not the solution. We need to keep the turnovers to a minimum against a team who can really make you pay for them. It resulted in 2 goals tonight. Hopefully we can feed off the Garden Faithful and keep this thing from going back to Washington.

Zherdev needs to go. He's the definition of the Rangers crappy play.

Actually what I said is that the Rangers play with no passion when Avery's out of the line-up. Would they still have lost with Avery in there? Probably. Would they have played with more intensity and fight. Absolutey. And I think with Avery not pestering them Washington was able to play a lot looser.
