Grachev Named OHL Rookie of the Year

The OHL announced today that Ranger prospect F Evgeny Grachev of the Brampton Battalion is the recipient of the Emms Family Award as the OHL’s Rookie of the Year for the 2008-09 season.

The 19-year-old, who was selected 75th overall by the Rangers in 2008, finished first among OHL rookies in scoring with 40 goals (5th in the OHL) and 40 assists for 80 points (13 in the OHL) in 60 games. He had a plus-minus rating of plus-48 which was fourth best in the league.
