Rangers 2, Flyers 1

The New York Rangers (42-30-9) defeated the Philadelphia Flyers (43-26-11) by the score of 2-1, tonight. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports.

...congratulations Ranger fans. It wasn't easy (what else is new), but the Blueshirts are in the playoffs for the fourth straight season. And are the only Eastern Conference team to make the playoffs every season since the lockout.

...if the Rangers are going to do any damage in the playoffs they'll need Lundqvist to lead the way. Hopefully tonight's performance is a preview of what we'll see in the second season.

...who had the better third period glove save Lundqvist or Staal?

...great all around defensive performance with Staal and Rozsival, yes Rozsival, leading the way.

...nice to see Naslund get one as he's stepped up his game the last few contests.

...speaking of stepping up, Chris Drury had two goals and two assists in arguably the two biggest games of the season (Tuesday against Montreal and tonight). Adding to the legacy of "Captain Clutch."

...tonight's win took on such a bigger meaning with Buffalo and Florida winning and Montreal gaining a point. With one game to go, the Rangers are tied with Montreal in points with 93, but hold the seventh spot due to the win tie breaker.

...how pissed would you be if you were picked for the "Blueshirts off Our Back" and got Steve Valiquette?

...Rangers first round opponent still up in the air as a win on Sunday in Philadelphia pits them against Washington while a loss and a Canadiens win would mean a date against the Bruins.

Who cares who jersey you get.

Anywho, how about Rosival's elbow to the jaw of Philly's captain.

Lundqvist.

Less pissed about then if I got Redden's.

i agree- if I got Redden's jersey I would have just left it on the ice.

I would have kept it just displayed the front when hanging it

Would you have been pissed if the first goal was the opposite way around? It seemed like he was pretty certain of the fact that it was still loose.

Matt, I probably would have been pissed. But if you watched the replay Biron had his glove hand closed and was trying cover the puck with the back of his glove so techinically he didn't have it covered.
