Tortorella the Star of Game 1

Jess Rubenstein at The Prospect Park gives John Tortorella props for his in-game decisions during the Rangers Game 1 victory against Washington...

"Tortorella adapted, he kept calm and more importantly he kept the Rangers from those late game panics that we have witnessed all season long. Torts despite his protests was the difference maker as his moves were very visible but also not at all visible until the damage was done."

Rubestein specifically mentions swapping Girardi & Staal for Redden & Rozsival, attacking the Capitals when their one and only power play unit is still on the ice after the man advantage (see Dubinsky's goal), clearing the middle of their zone and keeping his players calm as the calls were going against them.

...nice analysis by Rubenstein, who also does a great job following the Rangers prospects.
