Tortorella Suspended for Tomorrow's Game

NHL.com reports that John Tortorella has been suspended for one game for squirting a fan with water and throwing a water bottle that struck a fan during Game 5 Friday night.

Steve Zipay at Blue Notes reports that with the Hartford Wolf Pack eliminated from the AHL playoffs, head coach Ken Gernander could assist former Caps coach Jim Schoenfeld behind the bench Sunday afternoon.

Jane McManus at the Rangers Report has the Rangers official statement on the suspension...

“We disagree with the suspension and will have no further comment.”

...i've got to agree with the suspension. You do something as stupid as throwing a water bottle into the crowd and you're going to pay the price.

...i said it earlier today, how very hypocritical for Tortorella to loose his cool the same night he sits Avery for doing the same.

...not sure what this is going to do for the Rangers mind-set tomorrow, but you have to assume it won't do any good.

This makes perfect sense.....squirt water at someone...1 game suspension....talk about your ex-girlfriend...banished from the league.....ahit from behind into the boards??????
The NHL will now promote the suspension of Tortorella in all NHL promos to hype what will hopefully be the Rangers in the 2nd round
