Doctors Not to Blame for Cherepanov's Death

ESPN.com reports Avangard Omsk doctors are not to blame for the death of Ranger prospect Alexei Cherepanov, who collapsed during a Continental Hockey League game last year in Russia.

The federal Investigative Committee said doctors with the team had no reason to suspect the 19-year-old Cherepanov suffered from a chronic heart problem and did not prescribe the medicine he was taking. Team doctors will not face a criminal investigation.

...on a purely selfish hockey level, while Grachev softens the blow, Cherepanov's death set the Rangers back big time when it comes to having a big time winger in their system.

...and obviously my prayers are with the Cherepanov family.
