More Zubov to Rangers Rumors

The other day I posted an item from Larry Brooks stating that the Rangers were likely interested in persuing former Ranger Sergei Zubov. Now Pierre LeBrun at ESPN.com jumps on the bandwagon...

"Like Koivu, it appears Zubov is ready for a new challenge. After 12 seasons with the Dallas Stars, the soon-to-be 39-year-old defenseman is talking to other teams, as many as six or seven, about continuing his NHL career. It's believed the New York Rangers are among those teams."

...i'll say it again. I'm not interested in a 39-year-old defenseman coming off of major hip surgery no matter how bad our power play is.

On a 1-year contract? Why not? The guy consistently gets 40+ assists per year. Wouldn't it be great to have an "offensive defenseman" that actually provides offense?
