70 Games Fits Lundqvist

Steve Zipay at Blue Notes has this quote from Henrik Lundqvist on how many games he'd like to play this year...

“I think around 70 is a good number, plus the Olympics,” he said. That’s about the same number as his previous non-Olympic seasons, and head coach John Tortorella has hinted that the figure could be lower. Lundqvist said it depends on how the Rangers are faring. “A lot of times if the team’s doing well, you can relax more and play more games, when you fight it a little more, you get more tired.”

...in my opinion 70 plus the Olympics is way too much. I'd like to see him between 60-65 games. Hopefully Valiquette can handle the extra load.

Lundqvist also talks Sweden's Olympic camp, crashing with Aaron Voros, his new equipment and Tortorella versus Renney.

Zipay also observed Lundqvist holding his glove hand higher during today's informal practice.

...looks like Lundqvist finally got the memo that high glove side is his weakness.
