Rangers Prospects 4, Red Wings Prospects 3

The Rangers Prospects defeated the Detroit Red Wings Prospects by the score of 4-3 tonight on the third day of the Traverse City Tournament. The Rangers Prospects are now 2-1 in the tournament and will play the St. Louis Blues Prospects tomorrow in the third place game. For a full recap go to newyorkrangers.com.

Luke Walker had two goals and an assist, while Daniel Bartek and Ethan Werek also scored. Goalie Chad Johnson stopped 32 shots for his second straight victory.

Other notable prospects included Michael Del Zotto who was a +1, Evgeni Grachev who registered two shots on goal and Ryan Bourque who had an assist. See stat sheet here.

...another nice effort out of the Rangers prospects after struggling in the opener. Lovin' the four goals a game. Let's hope the big club can replicate that offensively.

...goaltender Chad Johnson, who the Rangers obtained in an off-season trade with Pittsburgh, seems to really be turning heads at Traverse as Rangers Director of Player Personnel Gordie Clark said this of the young netminder...

“He was excellent once again. Chad was very sharp tonight, stopping 20 top scoring chances. One of those saves was a penalty shot by Johan Ryno (of Detroit) that never had a chance of getting by him.”

...Valiquette better watch his back.
