"Before the season started a few Nervous Nellies among the Rangers faithful worried that John Tortorella was banking too heavily on a couple of rookie defensemen.
I calmed some of the Blueshirts brigade with this advice: Matt Gilroy will win the Calder Trophy and Michael Del Zotto will be the second-half of New York's Gold Dust Twins on the blue line. I used a bit of historical perspective for my prediction, remembering a similar pair from yesteryear."
Fischler also says that the two rookies are reminiscent of the best Brian Leetch-Brad Park-style offensive-defense.
