Good to See Ya Gomer

I haven't mentioned this yet, but tonight will be the first time we get to see Scott Gomez since the Rangers sent him to Montreal for Chris Higgins, Ryan McDonagh and Pavel Valentenko.

On the season, Gomez has two goals, three assists and is a +1 in nine games. Montreal is 4-5-0 on the season.

Gomez is also currently caught in the middle of a vicious Montreal rumor that has him getting into a fight with teammate Sergei Kostitsyn during the preseason leading to Kostitsyn being sent down to the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs. Gomez denies the altercation. (Read here).

...when the Rangers signed Gomez I really looked forward to his play-making ability. Unfortunately, the Rangers never surrounded him with the personnel he needed to succeed. And for the most part he was a bust.

...the most ironic part about the Rangers trading Gomez is the money the Blueshirts where able to free-up they used to bring in a player Gomez probably would have thrived with in Gaborik.

I like Drury but I think everyone knows that Drury should have been the one traded to free up money. Gomez and Gaborik would have been an awesome first line, scary to think about what could have been. Drury was not a good signing at all. A lot worse than Gomez.
