Messier Enjoying Life

Pierre Lebrun at ESPN.com catches up with Mark Messier and asks him about his new role as special assistant to Glen Sather...

"Glen has given me a lot of latitude to look into the organization, into a lot of different areas, to spend time in different areas, starting with Traverse City [Red Wings rookie tournament], working through training camp, evaluating, going to Hartford [AHL], watching other games, taking in some meetings downtown with internal operations ... every day is different," Messier said. "A lot of latitude to move around, see what's going on and continue to learn."

...i can't tell you how excited I am having Messier within the organization. He has the respect of everyone in the NHL which can only help him develop into a top executive and hopefully a successful GM with the Rangers.
