Michael Obernauer at the Blueshirts Blog spoke with Glen Sather about the Rangers hole at center after the Chris Drury and Brandon Dubinsky injuries...“Higgins has played center before, he’s perfectly capable of doing it,” the president/GM said as he made his way to the auditorium. “You’re better off letting your people have an opportunity and see what they can do, and if they can’t do it then we’ll look to make a deal.”
...of course the Rangers are better off giving their own people the opportunity. Sather's irresponsible contracts have given them no other choice.
