Rangers 2, Senators 1, SO

The New York Rangers (11-8-1) defeated the Ottawa Senators (8-6-2) by the score of 2-1 in a shootout, today. For a recap go to Yahoo! Sports and newyorkrangers.com.

...much needed win today to stop the bleeding. This was a Tom Renney 2-1 shootout win special.

...when your team is in a tailspin you need your best player to step-up and that's what Lundqvist did. He was a wall today.

...absolutely loving the chemistry between Gaborik and Prospal. That short-handed goal was a thing of beauty.

...speaking of short-handed, what a job by the pk in overtime. They must have blocked at least five shots.

...Parenteau better have buried his shootout attempt after missing a wide open net late in the third. I kid P.A. He's making a real case to stick with this team when Drury and Dubinsky comes back.

...and one of the guys he can replace on the roster is Brashear who is basically useless at this point. I know it's still early in the season, but I don't see him turning it around anytime soon.

...finally a Sean Avery sighting today.

...two days off then the Ovechkinless Capitals come to MSG. Unless he's coming back early too. See Kovalchuk.
