Rangers Hold Trade Talks About Kostitsyn Brothers

Bruce Garrioch at the Ottawa Sun reports...

"The Rangers have held trade talks with the Habs about Fs Sergei and Andrei Kostitsyn because New York could be without Cs Chris Drury (concussion) and C Brandon Dubinsky (broken hand) long term. Drury’s status is uncertain, while Dubinsky is gone 4-6 weeks."

...both of the Kostitsyn brothers are struggling this year (Sergei is in the AHL and Andrei has one goal) so I'm not sure why the Rangers would have interest in them. Plus they're wingers so they're not going to help at center unless the Blueshirts are confident with Higgins at center and one of these guys could fill in on the wing.

...my opinion is the Rangers should hang tight, see how Parenteau performs over the next week and re-evaluate then.

this only makes sense if Montreal takes back 1 player for 1 or 2 for 2, I'm sure Sather is thinking Higgins and Avery for the pair, but why on earth would Montreal reacquire Higgins months after trading him? If Lisin is on the table then no-deal. I would much rather have Higgins and Lisin than The pair of Kostitsyn brothers any day of any week, month, or year
