Rangers Talk Win vs. Oilers

Steve Zipay at Blue Notes has these quotes from Ranger players after last night's win vs. the Oilers...

On the power play, Marian Gaborik noted...

"After the first period (when one early power play fizzled)" said Gaborik, who had a goal and assist with the man advantage after being held off the scoresheet in Vancouver, "we said we need to keep moving the puck and move with the puck as well to try to create seams. That opened up a lot of shots."

On scoring for the first time in 10 games, Ryan Callahan said...

"It definitely feels good, are you keeping count?" said Callahan. "We crashed the net more. It's no secret that we needed to create more offense and that's a good way to do it.

On the victory, Steve Valiquette explained...

"We needed to get back on track," said Valiquette, who finished with 26 saves. "We blocked a lot of shots and were showing a lot of courage."

On having a bounceback performance after a terrible outing in his last start against the Sharks, Valiquette added...

"I beat myself for 48 hours. Nobody was more upset than me. I'm supposed to give the team a spark when I play every couple weeks."
