Redden Injures Shoulder/Arm; Questionable for Friday

Andrew Gross at Ranger Rants reports that Wade Redden hurt his right shoulder/arm when he got his arm banged against the backboards by Victor Oreskovich and is not sure whether he’ll be able to play Friday at Tampa Bay.

Gross adds that Rangers’ brass huddled after the game to make arrangements for a defenseman to be summoned from Hartford (AHL). However, Glen Sather wouldn’t say which defenseman was coming up but he said one was coming “as insurance.”

On the injury Redden noted...

“It kind of got extended,” Redden said. “My arm was kind of in front of me and got tweaked. Right now, we’ll see how it feels tomorrow and then we’ll decide.”

...you'd have to think Saguinetti is first in line to be called up. But he's an offensive defenseman and the Rangers already have two rookie offensive d-men in the line-up. Maybe veteran Mathieu Dandenault is the better option.
