Valley to Start Again

Steve Zipay at Blue Notes reports that Steve Valiquette will be starting his second straight game tonight against the Calgary Flames to give Henrik Lundqvist some additional rest.

Henrik Lundqvist, who has been suffering from a minor right upper thigh/groin injury the last few days, said...

"It's just a minor little thing that's been bugging me, so it's a good time to get a break, we're not playing til Thursday, so a couple days off here and be good to go," he said, adding that when he got on the ice this morning "I knew I wasn't playing."

...Valiquette is going to have to be better than he was in Edmonton or this could be a long night. Especially because you have to assume Lundqvist is not going to be available unless its an emergency.

...oh yeah and let's hope 'The King' is ok.

I think Vally will be fine, its good that Hank is getting more rest, he's been shaky as of late, which most likely explains the higher than average goals against. By the time thursday hits, he will have had more than a weeks rest, which you can always use. Smart move by torts. The more interesting story, has Dane Byers made himself a fixture on the team? It seems that Torts would rather play him than Voros (why not) and he played very well in 3 games minus the 26 penalty minuets in one game. He makes an excelent 4th liner, unlike our other 4th liners (save Brashear) who generally play better than 4th line
